I asked Lizzie (better known as The Original Poet) to write me something special for my wife on her birthday. I had previously seen some of the heartfelt poems she had done, which had brought me to tears, so I was excited to see what she could do for me. As always, I called last minute and being the star she is, was more than happy to oblige and take on the challenge. After some discussions about my wife and our life together, I eagerly awaited the finished product.

All I can say is WOW! I am rarely lost for words but the result was beyond my expectations. Lizzie had hit the nail on the head with not only the words but the character and humour seeping through the poem. When my wife opened this and read the poem, we both had tears in our eyes. Being a ‘Northern Lad’ I do not typically admit to shows of emotion, but this blew me away. It incorporated years of fun and family in one beautiful arrangement.

I cannot recommend Lizzie more highly, she will bring you to tears so BEWARE! But it will be the most beautiful investment you will ever make.

I managed to read it yesterday, it was important to me that I was the one to read it, I must have practised it out loud at least 50 times and maybe managed to read it without crying less than 10 of those but I’m glad I made it through it yesterday.
